I think the relationship with Clarke is one of the ones when he can be open with her and be vulnerable … There’s not many people he is like that with at all, so I think that’s why people might gravitate towards that because there is a side of Bellamy that she brings out that doesn’t really come out with anybody else. Speaking about why he thinks some fans have responded so passionately to the Bellarke dynamic, Morley said:įor to even open up to other people is pretty hard and he struggles to do that with his sister. And if they feel passionately about it, then that’s great. It’s not really something that’s up to Eliza or I, but you know, if people want to ‘ship it,’ then I’m not gonna stop them. No one’s really pushing an agenda … That’s not something that crops up in conversations and we’re doing the job and you have what’s on the page and you try to do it as truthful as you can.Īnd whether that’s where Jason and the writing team want to take it, then that’s their decision. You know, we get our scripts and that’s what we do, you know. It doesn’t necessarily affect me or Eliza when we’re performing. Speaking about the romantic Bellarke dynamic in particular, Morley addressed how it does (or doesn’t) affect how he and Taylor play their scenes together, saying: Everything that’s peaceful is short-lived on this show. But, you know, everything’s pretty short-lived. They obviously will go out on their own journeys and they both have their own issues they have to deal with and demons they have to fight, but, for the most part, in the beginning, there is that unity again. Though Bellamy and Clarke will start the season together, it sounds like, similar to the past two seasons, the two might part ways - at least for a little bit - as Season 4 gets up and going.
